Virginia was once a major battle field in the American civil war around 1861-1865. With the past colonization attempts of countries such as England, the Dutch Republic, Spain, Portugal and France, Virginia has a diverse rich and interesting history. The early native American tribes were outnumbered by the Algonquian Indians in numbers of 10,000 back in the 16th century. Today Virginia is the home of the American defense force in the pentagon, located in Arlington and built in 1943. The weather climate is mild and jobs are plenty, especially within reach of Arlington and Washington D.C. which is not too far away.
Properties in Virginia are a mixture of wooded acreage, country homes, residential, mountain property horse farms, cattle ranches, recreational land, waterfront, businesses and more. With the natural beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Shenandoah Valley plus the addition of Virginia’s lovely beaches to the east it is a major draw card for many people looking to escape the rat race.
